PAUL FLANNIGAN
@STUMPTOWNAXES
Stumptown Axes began as a hobby, but quickly became a passion for Paul. Since starting the company, he has hand crafted hundreds of axe handles, garnered millions of views across social media, and created his own line of custom handles. Through all of this, he still manages to prioritize making time for his family and getting outdoors.

A passion developed from chaos
ABOUT PAUL
Paul lives in Whitefish, MT with his wife and kids. He spends his days mastering the balance between family, outdoor recreation, remodeling his home, and bringing life to old steel with bespoke axe handles and custom leather work. His passion for axe craft grew from the need to quiet his mind and find a productive outlet. He wanted to build something with his hands, and have complete control of the outcome. His newest endeavor is encouraging and enabling others to build an axe of their own. Aside from his custom projects, Paul now sells premium American Hickory handles precision lathed from some of his favorite designs that he’s mastered through making hundreds of axes from scratch over the years. Paul is a perfect example of “failing forward”, showing relentless perseverance and dedication in the face of whatever life throws at you to build the life you want.
